About Me
Brad Lawson
Brad Lawson is the Co-Founder of PIERCE Education and the EMS Program Coordinator at Robeson Community College. At the age of 17, he enlisted in the North Carolina National Guard as a Combat Medical Specialist. After enrolling into an EMT class, he joined South Robeson Rescue Unit as a volunteer where he is now an honorary member with over 20 years of volunteer service.
He has served in a variety of roles in many EMS systems from EMT up to Assistant Director over nearly 25 years. Local government, hospital based, non-profits, and private for-profit agencies have all brought many learning experiences. During employment with American Medical Response he served on the FEMA Disaster Response Incident Command Team. Notable deployments were to Hurricane Katrina (2005), then back to back storms Hurricane Gustav and Ike (2008). At the time, Hurricane Gustav was the largest ambulance deployment in US history, sending 662 ambulances.
Brad holds many certificates and instructor/coordinator status for many programs, but his passion is mental health, special operations, and the practical application of education in EMS. On his time off, Brad enjoys fishing at the beach, quiet time in the mountains, and spending time with his family.
